Special Education
 
                       The Special Education Department at Napier is noted for the diverse opportunities that are given to students. There are four unique programs that are located in our school. Each program is designed to help students reach their potential. Each program has made a difference in the lives of boys and girls.The Tennessee Department of Education, Division of Special Education's purpose is to "promote educational services and programs for all Tennessee's children with special education needs that will enable them to lead productive and independent lives." The Division is committed to systematic planning along with plan implementation, tracking
and accountability as a vehicle for providing the leadership necessary for fulfilling this purpose.
                      Mrs. Susan Cutler (Lifeskills), Mrs.Lorinda Walden(CBIP), Mrs. Audrey Moore (K-3rd), Mr. Reginald Hill(M.I.P.), and Ms. Carrie Dickson(3rd-4th) are dedicated professionals and are willing to help all students succeed. Each teacher brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences to the classroom. All teachers are committed to:
  • monitor goals and strategies to be sure that they are effective
  • explore interventions that are centered around the needs of the child
  • involve all stakeholders that can help students move to being proficient or advanced
  • support parents and guardians
